Edit An Existing Page
Edit an Existing Page
- Click on the Edit Page tab at the top of the page or on an Edit Section link (if any) on the left of the page.
- Type your revisions
- Click the Preview Button and your latest version will appear at the bottom of the page
- Make more revisions if necessay
- Click the Save button when finished.
Basic Page Editing and Formatting
Create a new page
Option 1 - create new page from the browser address bar
- Choose an appropriate Group for the new page. Options are Excel, VBA, Resources. Software or News
- Copy one of the following to the address bar of your browser:

www.excelwiki.com/VBA/PageTitle
www.excelwiki.com/Resources/PageTitle
www.excelwiki.com/Software/PageTitle
www.excelwiki.com/News/PageTitle - replace PageTitle with the title of your new page, do not use spaces, just start each word with capital letter.
Example: www.excelwiki.com/Excel/TitleOfMyNewPage - Hit Enter and click the Edit button to edit the new page
Option 2 - create a new page from a existing page
- Creating a link to a page will create that page
- Choose an appropriate Group for the new page. Options are Excel, VBA, Resources. Software or News
- Edit an existing page and insert a link where appropriate
* If you are not sure on which page to create the link - make your link from the Wiki Sandbox page - Create a new link using the format [[groupname/pagename | page description]]
For example [[Excel/VLookup | VLookup function]] - Save the edited page
- Click on the new link on the saved page. This will open the Edit tab for the new page.
- Edit and Save the new page.
- Articles about other Excel sites should be in the Resources or Software Groups
- If you are not sure which page to create the link on - make your link from the Wiki Sandbox page
- Focus on content. Don't be too concerned about formatting or linking mistakes. Someone will come along and correct them.
Assign page to a category
- Choose an appropriate category (or categories). If a category does not exist make one up. Click here for a list of existing categories.
- Edit the page
- At the bottom of the Edit Page enter a category link using the format [[!category]]
For example [[!Dates And Times]] Note the exclamation mark at the beginning of the category name. - Save the Edit Page.
Assigning a page to a category is not mandatory when creating a new page. If you are not sure, just create a new article and someone else will come along and assign it to a category.
